Air Fest returns
Tony along with his fellow Culpeper Air Fest board members are excited to announce the return of Air Fest this fall! After the challenges of 2020, Air Fest is rising above the pandemic to honor, educate, and entertain once more through the festival and the STEM program for local students.
Performers have just been announced. For all the latest info, visit the Air Fest website and follow them on Facebook. If you would like to support the festival as a donor or sponsor, email Tony for more information.
Art Camp is Back!
Kaleidoscope has been a summer tradition for my family for many years now, and I am so glad that we’ll be able to have camp again this June. It will look a little different because it will be held outside under the pavilion at Lenn Park, but having fun while being creative has always been at the heart of the program!
Camp is Monday, June 7-Friday, June 11 with 2 sessions for ages 6-8 and ages 9-12. The older group is full with a waitlist, but the younger group has 10 open spots because of an issue with a registration link. Please sign up or share with others who might be interested.
We’ve got 2 new instructors and 3 returning ones, and some of our regular volunteers are back, as well as some first time ones who were former campers! I’m excited for all that we have planned, but I could use your help filling spots! Thank you!
Featured Artist at Elevate
I had an unexpected opportunity to display my work locally, and after the lessons of 2020, I was hesitant to share the news until I saw my work on the walls–something like don’t count your art shows until they have hung.Art Jam virtual classes
The Art of K Art and Design
A silver lining of 2020 was I made a lot of paintings, and I had the honor of creating a couple of commissioned pieces as well. I’ve been looking forward to sharing the painting above with you! It is a watercolor painting for our friends at Pepperberries. This Culpeper postcard is available exclusively at their shop, and it was created to celebrate the opening of The Second Door at Pepperberries.Day Trip Idea
Currently on display at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley is “Norman Rockwell’s America.” It includes original paintings, drawings, and hundreds of covers from The Saturday Evening Post.
The museum is located in Winchester, VA and is family-friendly with a historic property, gardens, and they recently added trails. It’s one of our family’s favorite places to go because the touring exhibitions are such high quality, and the permanent collections are fun too. There are sections dedicated to dollhouses as well as the history of the valley.

RBG pop-up shop
Tony’s December tradition of 25 Days of Snowflakes included this tribute to late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It was so popular, that we’ve set up a pop-up shop with shirts, masks, keychains, and more!
